Minister: Weekend Land Services Aim to Meet Public Needs
Deputy Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (Wamen ATR), Ossy Dermawan, stated that the Weekend Land Service (Pelataran) programme at Land Offices (Kantah) is part of an effort to ensure services run well and can meet the needs of the public. “ATR/BPN services are 80 percent public services, so the measure of our success in the regions, both at the Regional Office and Land Office levels, is if the public who come for services are served as well as possible,” said Ossy in Jakarta on Monday.
He noted that land services must be supported by professionalism in providing clear information to the public. He assessed that one form of good service is when the public receives clear information regarding the services or programmes they need. “How important it is that the function of the front counter is as a source of information, a place for the public to voice their complaints, and hopefully a source of solutions that the public expects,” he said.
On Sunday (27/6), the Deputy Minister inspected the Weekend Land Service at the Bandar Lampung City Land Office. He observed the counter activities and the process of printing electronic certificates for Lampung residents who had just completed a roya service. Following the inspection, Deputy Minister Ossy reiterated that service quality must be supported by professionalism strengthened by integrity. “Professional means we truly dedicate our time, energy, and thoughts, for example, ensuring there are no more mapping or measurement errors. If we are professional, it must be correct. Also, be fast but thorough and accurate,” he said.
