Transport Minister Dudy Purwaghandi has revealed that the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) at Sudirman Station, temporarily nicknamed the ‘donut’, is targeted for completion by 2028. The area will become a node connecting six mass transport modes in Jakarta: the Commuter Line (KRL), Jabodebek LRT, Jakarta LRT, MRT, TransJakarta, and the Airport Train. According to Dudy, the project will be fully executed by PT MRT Jakarta together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. He explained that the hub’s presence will strengthen intermodal connectivity, allowing the public to switch transport more easily within a single integrated area. Dudy stated that the government has not yet assigned an official name to the transit area, and it is temporarily called the ‘donut’ due to its conceptual shape. He expressed hope that the transport hub will become a centre for public transport service integration in the capital, while facilitating public mobility across Jakarta through interconnected mass transit networks.
