Minister to open textile fair

JAKARTA (JP): The Ministry of Industry and Trade is opening
The Finest Traditional Textile Fair on Wednesday at its main
office on Jl. Gatot Subroto.

Thirty-four small and medium-scale producers of traditional
textile products from all 27 provinces will display their
products, including batik, woven fabrics and silks, at the six-
day event.

The ministry will also open the Beautiful Indonesian Products
Exhibition on Thursday night at the office of its Directorate
General of Trade on Jl. Ridwan Rais.

This exhibition will present a range of products from
textiles, plastics, furniture and paintings to coffee and chilis
from 10 am to 9 pm every day until Dec. 17.

The consumer goods products will be displayed in a unique and
artistic contemporary design created by painter Adhi Munardi.
The ministry will also host makeshift food stalls in its front
yard during the two-week-long exhibition. (das)
