Minister targets 2-3 digital interactive boards per school by end of 2026
Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti is targeting that by 2026, schools in Aceh in particular and Indonesia in general will have two to three Digital Interactive Boards (PID).
“Alhamdulillah, earlier I received a response from the children. They are enthusiastic and eager to learn with the PID. Hopefully, by the end of 2026, all additional PIDs can be distributed to all schools throughout Indonesia,” said Mendikdasmen Abdul Mu’ti in Pidie Regency on Monday.
The statement was made whilst reviewing the revitalisation progress of SDN Utue in Pidie Regency. There, the minister also distributed books and handed over educational quality improvement assistance worth Rp25 million to the school.
He explained that the Digital Interactive Board, or Interactive Flat Panel (IFP), provided by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) through the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education, Primary and Secondary Education, is an important step in supporting the digitalisation of learning in schools.
He said the addition of PIDs is being pursued for distribution to all levels of education so that students can study diligently.
Previously, the minister stated that the digitalisation of learning through the use of PIDs encourages more meaningful learning. Technology is not positioned as a goal, but rather as a means to strengthen conceptual understanding, foster critical thinking, and present a learning process that is relevant to the development of science and the needs of the times.
He added that the learning digitalisation programme is not merely about fulfilling infrastructure, but a strategy to reach geographically difficult areas.
