Minister: Social Protection Programme is How the State is Present for the People
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Rini Widyantini said the Social Protection (Perlinsos) programme, which is the digitalisation of social assistance, is one form of the state’s presence in improving the quality of public services.
“Carrying one main spirit, ‘Data Matched. Citizens’ Rights Ensured’, we are here to ensure that the acceleration of digital social protection is not merely a technocratic idea, but a real movement that is easy, inclusive, and well-targeted for all Indonesian people,” Rini said in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
Rini made the remarks during an inspection of the Perlinsos implementation at the Sumedang Regency Government Building, West Java, on Wednesday (12/8).
Rini said the implementation of digital government is measured not by how many applications have been successfully launched, but by how many citizen difficulties can be resolved.
Technology must not move complexity from the counter to the screen; technology must cut stages, connect data, and bring services closer.
According to her, the digital transformation being carried out stems from the direction of President Prabowo Subianto, who emphasised two key points: the government must not have dozens of applications that do not talk to each other, and most importantly, the government must come to the people through technology.
That message, she said, has changed the perspective on digitalisation.
“The measure is not how many applications have been successfully launched, but how many citizen difficulties can be resolved. Technology must not move complexity from the counter to the screen. Technology must cut stages, connect data, and bring services closer,” Rini said.
For this reason, the government is building Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), a shared digital foundation that is secure, standardised, and usable across services. Digital identity ensures citizens are recognised accurately.
On that occasion, Rini also said that leadership in Sumedang Regency has been able to drive change. A total of 111,077 households have registered on the Perlinsos Portal, reaching 24.23 percent of the total population of 458,418 households.
This demonstrates three key things: leadership that is present, collaboration that grows from sub-district to village level, and momentum that is continuously maintained.
It was conveyed that 91.91 percent of Sumedang residents registered on the Perlinsos portal did so through agent assistance. Of the 3,847 agents deployed in Sumedang, 59.24 percent have been actively assisting residents door-to-door.
“Hopefully the steps we are starting and strengthening from Sumedang today will become an example that digital government is not merely about making the state look more modern, but about making the state more present and making people’s lives easier,” she said.
Meanwhile, Sumedang Regent Dony Ahmad Munir said the Sumedang Regency Government will support government programmes such as Perlinsos, which have a major impact on the community as beneficiaries.
“Through the Perlinsos programme’s data collection, we can ensure its targeting accuracy and, of course, make its budget more efficient, which will certainly have an impact on development in our country,” he said.
