Minister Says No Discussion Yet on Deputy Agriculture Minister Position

President Prabowo Subianto has inaugurated Sudaryono as the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said there has been no discussion yet on who will replace Sudaryono as Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan). “Not yet, so regarding the matter of the Wamentan position, it has not been discussed to date,” Prasetyo said at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/7/2026). Prasetyo noted that the Deputy Minister of Agriculture position has only been vacant for one day since Sudaryono’s departure. He mentioned that no talks have taken place regarding the position. “Because the appointment of the former official, Mas Sudaryono, the Wamentan who was asked to become the Head of BGN, was also just one day ago,” he added. “So indeed, regarding the position of Wamentan, we have not discussed it yet,” he continued. Previously, Prabowo inaugurated Sudaryono as the Head of BGN, replacing Nanik S. Deyang yesterday. Nanik resigned from her position on Wednesday (22/7) morning because she wanted to focus on medical treatment.
