Minister Rosan: Indonesia's Investment Reaches Rp498.8 Trillion, Absorbing 706,000 Workers

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) reports that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2026 reached Rp498.8 trillion. Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, stated that this achievement grew by 7.2% compared to the same period the previous year. According to him, investment performance also shows the resilience of national investment amid global dynamics, both in terms of geopolitics and the global economic slowdown. “This achievement is also equivalent to 24.4% of the 2026 investment target of Rp2,004.1 trillion set by Bappenas,” said Rosan during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (23/4). PMA is slightly higher, at around 50.1% or Rp250 trillion, while PMDN stands at Rp248.8 trillion. “In terms of growth, PMA increased by 8.5%, while PMDN grew by 6%,” he said, quoted from the YouTube channel of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy. In terms of regions, the distribution of investment between Java and outside Java is relatively balanced. Investment in Java is recorded at Rp247.5 trillion or 49.6%, while outside Java is Rp251.3 trillion.
