Minister Rosan inaugurates three deputies, emphasises boosting investment quality
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Investment Minister and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Rosan Roeslani inaugurated three new high-level executive officials or deputies to bolster institutional transformation while accelerating the quality of national investments. The three deputies, inaugurated in Jakarta on Friday, are Ichsan Zulkarnaen as Deputy for Investment Planning, Andre Omer Siregar as Deputy for Investment Cooperation, and Siti Romayah as Deputy for Investment Information Technology. In a confirmed statement, Rosan said this step is part of efforts to enhance organisational capacity following the nomenclature change, while ensuring optimal support for the downstreaming agenda and improving investment quality. In the new structure, he said, the Deputy for Investment Planning plays a role in formulating policy directions and preparing an investment opportunity map aligned with national development priorities. Meanwhile, the Deputy for Investment Cooperation is tasked with strengthening strategic partnerships with stakeholders domestically and internationally to drive concrete investment realisations. The Deputy for Investment Information Technology is focused on developing investment information systems, including the Online Single Submission (OSS), to ensure they operate in an integrated, transparent, and accountable manner. Minister Rosan emphasised the importance of having the best talents to address the challenges of continuously increasing investment targets. “The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming needs the best people available, because the demands from the expected investment targets continue to rise every year. We all know that investment plays a very important role in Indonesia’s economic growth, with its contribution currently at around 29 percent or even 30 percent,” he stated. He also highlighted the importance of teamwork and integrity as the main foundations in achieving national investment targets. “In this ministry, we must work as a team. I always say we can achieve targets if we work through teamwork, where we complement each other, support each other, synergise, and collaborate. And, of course, the number one most important thing is integrity. As recited in the oath, integrity is the primary thing in carrying out our duties,” said Rosan.
