Minister Rini Widyantini Writes Open Letter to Indonesian Civil Servants

Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan-RB) Rini Widyantini has written a letter addressed to all civil servants (ASN) across Indonesia. In the letter, Rini expressed her respect and gratitude to all ASN who work tirelessly to serve the public, urging them to continue upholding their integrity. “Today I want to greet you as fellow human beings entrusted with a great mandate. I know that not every day is easy,” Rini wrote in the letter shared on her Instagram account @menpanrb on Saturday (18/7). She noted that despite existing limitations and high public expectations, civil servants continue to wear their uniforms of service to provide for and answer the needs of the community. “Know that this presence is both a mandate and an act of worship,” she said. Rini acknowledged that not all hard work receives applause and not every sacrifice makes the news. She therefore offered encouragement so that the spirit of service never fades. “However, every child who receives a better education, every patient served with sincerity, every aid package that reaches the community, every road that is built, every piece of data managed correctly—all of these are the real face of a working state,” she stated. “The state is present through your hands,” she continued. Rini invited all ASN to remain focused on carrying out this great mandate from the state amidst the current challenges and opportunities for significant leaps forward. She wants challenges to become a source of strength for the spirit of service, noting that it is precisely during difficult times that professionalism is proven and dedication finds its meaning. “The history of this nation was not built by those who only worked when circumstances were easy. History is built by those who remain standing, keep working, and continue to believe that the good done today will become a legacy for future generations,” she said. She expressed her belief that many civil servants work quietly, without the spotlight or praise, yet carry out their duties with extraordinary dedication. “Continue to be ASN who embody AKHLAK. Continue to uphold integrity, improve competence, support one another, and deliver quality service,” Rini concluded.
