Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Moch. Irfan Yusuf has revealed that one provider of meal services for Hajj pilgrims has withdrawn ahead of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. He explained that the provider previously had a service capacity of around 3,500 meal portions. The government has since redistributed them to three other providers. “Regarding one meal service provider in Makkah that has withdrawn with a capacity of 3,500 portions, the quota has been redistributed to three existing providers,” Irfan said during a meeting with Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Tuesday (14/4). Irfan also explained the distribution of luggage for pilgrims. To date, Saudi Airlines has distributed 74.1 per cent. Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia has distributed 50.8 per cent. He stated that the remaining undistributed luggage would be in the hands of pilgrims at the latest by 17 April. “Regarding the luggage, we have sent a warning letter and also dispatched an assistance team to monitor and help with the luggage distribution, including visiting the company in Bogor. That was also one of the sources of the delay there,” he said. Furthermore, Irfan explained the departure schedule for the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) in Saudi Arabia, starting with the advance team on 13 April. This is followed by the departure of the Airport Area Office (Daker) and Madinah Area Office on 17 and 18 April 2026. Next, the Makkah Area Office is scheduled to depart on 22, 23, and 24 April, and the Amirul Hajj on 19 May,” he said.
