Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono has confirmed that 30,000 trained managers for the Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDKMP) will be ready for deployment in the first week of August 2026. They will be assigned alongside staff recruited from local village communities.

Speaking during a hearing with Commission VI of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Wednesday, the Minister stated that the human resource training was being conducted in parallel. ‘We are training 30,000 cooperative managers, and we expect the training to be completed by the first week of August, after which they will be placed and distributed to each existing Kopdes Merah Putih,’ he said.

He added that the managers would work together with employees prioritised from the local village and sub-district communities to assist in operationalisation. Ferry noted that by August 2026, approximately 35,000 KDKMP units would be ready, with the remainder to be built in stages. ‘We are focusing on the 30,000 that are ready for operation,’ he explained.

Ferry also dismissed rumours that the cooperative managers would only be employed for two years. He clarified that the managers are on a two-year contract under the status of PKWT Agrinas Para Nusantara. ‘After two years, we will regulate their status in a presidential regulation,’ he said.
