Minister Reveals 15,845 Red and White Village Cooperatives Fully Completed

Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono revealed that as many as 15,845 Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDMP) have had their construction completed 100 per cent. These KDMP have not only finalised their permits but also encompass physical buildings, warehouses, retail outlets and their equipment.

Minister Ferry conveyed this in his remarks at the peak of the 79th Cooperative Day Commemoration of 2026 at the Indonesia Arena, GBK, Jakarta, on Sunday, 12 July 2026.

“Some 83,000 legal entity deeds of Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDMP) have been completed. Then, those that are 100 per cent complete in terms of physical buildings, warehouses, retail outlets and their equipment number 15,845,” said Ferry.

Meanwhile, the number of KDMP currently under construction stands at 19,539, he continued. “Some 19,539 (KDMP) are being built, out of a total of roughly 35,000,” said Ferry.

Coinciding with the completion of KDMP manager training and education in early August 2026, he said the managers will subsequently be placed across all KDMP whose physical buildings, retail outlets and equipment have been completed. On that occasion, he requested President Prabowo Subianto to officially launch KDMP operations, planned for August 2026.

“Later, with Your Excellency’s blessing, we would also like you, Mr President (Prabowo Subianto), to inaugurate the operationalisation of the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDMP), God willing, in August,” said Minister Ferry.

At the event, the Ministry of Cooperatives held the peak of the 79th Cooperative Day Commemoration of 2026, which was also attended by President Prabowo Subianto and ministers of the Red and White Cabinet. The government is targeting 40,000 KDMP to be operational by the end of 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen the village economy.

Deputy Cooperatives Minister Farida Farichah said the government is currently focused not only on completing the physical construction of cooperatives but also on preparing the human resources who will manage the KDMP so they can operate professionally.

To that end, the government is providing training for prospective managers to understand cooperative governance, business management, and aspects of service to members and the community. The training for prospective cooperative managers will take place from 17 to 31 July 2026.
