Minister Prabowo Holds Meeting at DPR to Discuss Disaster Recovery
The House of Representatives held a coordination meeting with the government to discuss post-disaster recovery in Sumatra today, Monday, 25 May 2026. The meeting, held at DPR’s Nusantara IV Building in Senayan, Jakarta, was chaired by Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.
Several ministers from the Red and White Cabinet attended the coordination meeting. Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian, as Chairman of the Task Force for Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of the Sumatra Disaster Area; Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, as Chairman of the Task Force Steering Committee; and National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Chief Suharyanto, as Deputy Chairman II of the Task Force, were present.
Also in attendance were Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono; Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo; Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin; Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa; and Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) Dony Oskaria.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar; Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti; Minister of Housing and Residential Areas Mauarar Sirait; Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana; and Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Bambang Eko Suhariyanto.
“On this occasion, I would like to thank the attention and presence of the DPR RI Disaster Recovery Task Force and the Government’s Task Force for Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction of the Sumatra Disaster in today’s coordination meeting,” said Sufmi Dasco Ahmad when opening the meeting on Monday morning, 25 May 2025.
The Gerindra Party politician added that the coordination meeting would discuss the latest developments regarding the Sumatra disaster recovery. Meeting participants requested the session be held behind closed doors. As of this report, the meeting was still ongoing.
