JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Minister for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (Minister PPPA) Arifah Fauzi stated that 33 childcare facilities, or daycares, in Yogyakarta lack permits.
“So, the Mayor of Yogyakarta has also conducted a census, and in the city of Yogyakarta, there are 37 licensed daycares and 33 unlicensed ones,” Arifah said after the Ministerial Meeting on handling child abuse cases at Little Aresha daycare, at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Central Jakarta, Thursday (30/4/2026).
“The 70 are spread across several ministries, institutions, and also provinces and regencies. For the Yogyakarta region itself, there are already 5 daycares under the guidance of KPPA with TARA standardisation,” she said.
The complaint post opened by the Ministry of PPPA has recorded 217 people accessing the service.
“There are already 130 requesting psychological support, and 70 requesting support for growth and development,” she said.
The formation of a task force has been agreed upon by the Ministry of PPPA, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of National Development Planning, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Indonesian Child Protection Commission, in the Ministerial Meeting on handling child abuse cases occurring at childcare facilities or daycares in Yogyakarta City.
In addition, there is also the establishment of a single integrated data portal between Ministerial Regulations (Permen) as regulations that must be followed by every daycare.
“So we have elaborated in detail, and we will soon form a task force to follow up on this,” she said.
According to Pratikno, the Ministries and Institutions also discussed daycare licensing, which in the future will be integrated into one system.
