Minister PKP states three KAI land plots in Tanah Abang are controlled by third parties
Jakarta (ANTARA) -
Minister for Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, commonly known as Ara, has stated that there is land belonging to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) in the Tanah Abang area of Jakarta that is controlled by third parties, even though it has final legal force regarding ownership by PT KAI.
Based on information received, Ara mentioned that there are three land locations that will soon be inspected to resolve the issue.
“I just received information from the President Director of Kereta Api and also from Mr Dony Oskaria (Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency/BP BUMN), there is railway-owned land that already has final legal force, but is controlled by third parties in Tanah Abang. How many locations, sir? Three locations,” she said during a press conference in Jakarta on Sunday.
Ara emphasised that the land is state property and must be utilised for the public interest.
“That is state property and already has final legal force. I emphasise that the state must not lose to anyone, especially since this is to be used for the interests of the Indonesian people. The state must not lose to anyone. So I assure you of that,” she said.
Furthermore, Ara assured that the government will take firm action so that the assets are not continuously controlled by other parties.
In addition, she requested that information be conveyed openly and emphasised that state assets must be used to the maximum for the public interest, especially for low-income groups (MBR), and must not be controlled by other parties.
