Minister PKP reminds housing developers to maintain public trust

Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait has reminded housing developers to maintain public trust. He stated that the government will continue to be fair to all developers committed to building quality homes in accordance with regulations. However, the government will not hesitate to provide guidance or impose sanctions on developers who break the rules and harm the community. “As minister, I will be fair to the developers. I hope there will be no need for me to reprimand or sanction anyone. If there are good innovations, the government will certainly support them,” Ara said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday. The government continues to promote policies that favour the community while creating a healthy business climate for industry players. Various facilities have been provided, including exemption from Land and Building Rights Acquisition Duty and Building Approval for low-income communities, free house certificates, and simplified financing requirements to make home ownership easier. Through closer collaboration between the government and developer associations, it is hoped that the provision of decent housing for the community can be accelerated. Meanwhile, digital transformation, regulatory compliance, and innovation in the property sector are expected to strengthen the national housing ecosystem while supporting economic growth and the success of the Three Million Homes Programme. Minister Ara also invited housing developers in East Java to continue assisting the government in providing subsidised housing under the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility scheme. He urged the public in East Java to take advantage of the subsidised housing facility provided by the government to address the home ownership backlog. The government has ensured that the FLPP interest rate remains at 5 per cent until the end of the tenor, which can be extended up to 40 years, with a down payment starting from 1 per cent of the house price.
