Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir said the achievements of Indonesian young racer Muhammad Kiandra Ramadhipa in the 2026 Moto3 Junior World Championship inspire the country’s youth.

‘Ramadhipa is an inspiration to Indonesian youth with his resilience and determination to achieve success and bring honour to the Red and White on the global stage,’ he said in a social media post.

Ramadhipa impressed by securing his first podium on debut at the 2026 Moto3 Junior World Championship in Barcelona-Catalunya, Spain, on Sunday (24 May). The result marks a significant milestone for the young Indonesian rider competing internationally.

The #32 rider was competitive from the start and even led the race in the final lap. Initially crossing the finish line in fifth place, just 0.144 seconds behind the winner, his position improved to third after another rider received a penalty.

This achievement is historic as Ramadhipa becomes the first Indonesian to claim a podium in the Moto3 Junior World Championship.

The positive result from the opening round also boosted his provisional standings, moving him to second place with 26 points from two races.

‘Keep striving and achieving on the world stage,’ he encouraged the rider.

The next round of the Moto3 Junior World Championship will take place at Circuito do Estoril in Portugal from 12-14 June 2026.
