PT KAI’s President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that the company does not differentiate between female and male passengers. Bobby emphasised that KAI guarantees the safety of all passengers without regard to gender. “For us, there is no tolerance at all for safety, no compromise at all, and we do not differentiate between men and women,” said Bobby during a press conference at Bekasi Timur Station on Wednesday (29/4/2026). Bobby explained that the provision of women’s carriages is intended for comfort and ease of access when using the train. The proposal came after Arifah inspected the condition of the victims, particularly passengers in the women’s carriage located at the end of the train and directly impacted by the collision with the Long-Distance Train (KAJJ) Argo Bromo Anggrek. She assessed that the positions at the front and rear ends of the train are more risky in the event of an accident. Therefore, according to her, those sections should preferably be occupied by general passengers or men to minimise fatalities among vulnerable groups. Nevertheless, Arifah emphasised that the idea is still merely an initial proposal that she conveyed directly to the Director of PT KAI. Currently, the primary focus remains on the evacuation and rescue process for the victims.
