Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Targets RBI Establishment in Every District and City Across All Villages

Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) Arifah Chodijah praised the Depok City Government for becoming the only city to have Rumah Bersama Indonesia (RBI) in all its sub-districts.

She expressed this during the launch of RBI at Depok Open Space (DOS), Jalan Margonda, Pancoran Mas Sub-district, on Sunday, 26 April 2026.

“Today I am very happy because this is the only district/city that has launched it across all its sub-districts,” said Arifah.

According to Arifah, in some districts/cities, launches have occurred in only a few villages, but in Depok, RBI exists in 63 sub-districts.

“This is an extraordinary initiative spearheaded by the Mayor. And it turns out that what is desired in RBI has already been implemented in Depok City,” stated Arifah.

For this reason, Arifah urged to continue and strengthen it, as there is a joint commitment to resolve issues at the village or sub-district level.

“Today we just visited the elderly community; this hat I’m wearing is their work, where the elderly remain productive and spirited to contribute together in the community,” said Arifah.

RBI itself aims to collaborate all stakeholders, as no single agency can solve every problem alone.

“So this must involve collaboration as desired by the President; everyone must collaborate and synergise. And in this event, what the President wants has been done in Depok City: solving problems through collaborative synergy with stakeholders, and most importantly, driven by the community level,” said Arifah.

The Chair of the Central Board of Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama acknowledged that each village or sub-district has its own specifics.

“Like in Pengasinan, they already have family food security spinach, they also have laying hens, and so on,” she explained.

“So each sub-district has its own specifics and focuses, but the core is to strengthen family resilience and family strength because an empowered family is supported by empowered women. An empowered family means an empowered sub-district. If the sub-district is empowered, Indonesia will also be empowered,” she added.

The Ministry of PPPA itself targets all districts/cities to form RBI in their respective areas.

“It should be all of Indonesia as our target because we are working together with other ministries, and now several ministries are focusing on the village level, so we join hands together,” said Arifah.
