Minister of State Secretary Leads Coordination Meeting on Presidential Strategic Programme at Defence Ministry
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi led a coordination meeting on oversight of the President’s strategic programmes. The meeting was a follow-up to direct presidential directives conveyed on 8 March.
The meeting was held in closed session at the Defence Ministry office on Tuesday, 17 March 2026. It was attended by numerous ministers, deputy ministers, and agency heads.
Deputy Defence Minister Donny Ermawan Taufanto stated that the coordination meeting was a continuation of a preliminary meeting held the previous Thursday. That initial meeting discussed the President’s directives and instructions, which are now being followed up in a wider forum to formulate concrete steps.
“Before this morning’s meeting led by the State Secretary, we reported that last week on Thursday, we had already held a preliminary meeting regarding this directive and order from the President,” Donny said.
The government aims for the results of this coordination meeting to be promptly formalised in decisions so that the President’s strategic programmes can be implemented immediately. Given the urgency and limited timeframe, all meeting participants were asked to focus on accelerating policy implementation.
“Because what the President expects must be implemented swiftly, and the available time is very short. Therefore, we are expected to quickly formulate a decision so that we can implement it,” he said.
The attending cabinet members included the Minister for State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Muti, Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto, Marine Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian.
