Minister of Social Affairs and Deputy Attend Briefing at Palace, Discuss Government Challenges
Social Affairs Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf, or Gus Ipul, accompanied by Deputy Social Affairs Minister (Wamensos) Agus Jabo Priyono, attended a briefing and government working meeting held by President Prabowo Subianto at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
The presence of Gus Ipul and Agus Jabo at the Palace underscores the Ministry of Social Affairs’ (Kemensos) commitment to following up on all directives from President Prabowo Subianto, particularly regarding the social welfare of Indonesian society.
“Today is 8 April 2026, I deliberately gathered the ministers, heads of agencies, and officials from the executive branch, including all echelon 1 officials from ministries/institutions and CEOs of SOEs,” Prabowo stated in his remarks on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Further, Prabowo explained the purpose of this working meeting is to deliver directives after more than one year of the Merah Putih Cabinet government implementing its mandate since October 2024.
“This is an opportunity for me to deliver directives at the stage of more than one year in implementing our mandate,” he clarified.
In his directives, Prabowo stated that over the past more than one year, the Merah Putih Cabinet government has achieved concrete milestones of accomplishment; however, amidst these achievements, Indonesia must face a world situation full of uncertainties amid conflicts in the Middle East.
“Wars everywhere, which have caused shocks to global stability,” he added.
Amid the geopolitical situation, the Head of State assured that the government is capable of controlling the direction of national development and state direction.
“We have proven that our government is effective, our government is reliable, and our government can carry out state duties correctly and well,” said Prabowo.
According to him, Indonesia’s current condition is said to be ready and strong in responding to the global crisis-filled situation. However, Prabowo invited the attending Ministers, Deputy Ministers, and echelon 1 officials from ministries/institutions to be able to lead this nation well.
“Brothers and sisters, this crisis for me is an opportunity; crisis, difficulty, challenge, obstacle, hurdle is an opportunity, making us have to work better, have to work more efficiently, must not be wasteful, must not have leaks, must not have corruption,” he emphasised firmly.
For information, this working meeting was attended by the ranks of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet, in addition to involving echelon I-level officials from ministries or institutions, ranging from Secretaries General, Directors General, Deputies, to CEOs of SOEs.
