Minister of Religious Affairs: Nuzulul Quran to be Held at Istana Negara

The Minister of Religious Affairs (MORA) Nasaruddin Umar said the Nuzulul Quran night will be held at Istana Negara, the Presidential Palace complex, on 17 Ramadan 1447 AH, 6 or 7 March this weekend. He conveyed this after meeting President Prabowo Subianto at the Palace on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. “I have just met with the President to discuss the preparations for Nuzulul Qur’an. So God willing, the upcoming Nuzulul Qur’an is planned to be held in Jakarta, specifically at Istana Negara,” Nasaruddin said on Wednesday. Two options were considered, including the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan and Jakarta’s Istiqlal Mosque. “We discussed the technical implementation for the event at the Istana, as there are many alternatives whether at IKN, at Istiqlal, at the Istana, or elsewhere, and the President instructed that we conduct it at Istana Negara,” he said. This location remains the same as in previous years. “The plan for zakat payments, as in previous years, will also be scheduled at Istana Negara for the President and his officials. That is what we discussed in the talks earlier,” he added.
