Minister of Religious Affairs' Eid al-Fitr Message: Let Us Pray for Leaders and the People for a Just Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Minister of Religious Affairs and Grand Imam of Istiqlal Mosque, Nasaruddin Umar, has invited all Muslims in Indonesia to pray for the nation and state so that it can be more peaceful and prosperous in the future. “I wish to convey Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah greetings. We give thanks that the Indonesian nation can celebrate the night of takbir and, God willing, Eid al-Fitr Day in a calm, peaceful, serene, and tranquil manner, without any disturbances,” said Nasaruddin, when providing a statement in the Main Hall of Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, on Friday (20/3/2026). Nasaruddin invited all people in Jakarta and Indonesia to celebrate Eid al-Fitr devoutly, whether returning home or staying at home, and all are invited to pray for their loved ones. Nasaruddin also invited the public to pray for the country so that it can become even better in the future. “Let us pray for our nation, let us pray for the Indonesian nation, its leaders, its people, its entrepreneurs, and all without exception, so that they can live more prosperously, more prosperously, justly, and full of tranquillity and peace,” he said. “May the religious days we commemorate in this Republic provide positive energy to create nobility of character, create inner tranquillity, and make us productive in building our nation for our children and grandchildren in the future,” said Nasaruddin.
