JAKARTA - The Minister of Public Works (PU), Dody Hanggodo, has emphasised that there will be no compromise on the damaged and potholed conditions of the Jakarta-Tangerang toll road, which persist in several locations.

Dody added that repairs are being carried out intensively through coordination between the Ministry of PU, the Toll Road Regulatory Body (BPJT), and PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk.

Handling has been underway since 10 March 2026 using the Scrapping, Filling, and Overlay (SFO) method as well as quick repairs (patching) at points requiring immediate attention.

“I ask BPJT and all Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) to show no compromise in addressing the road conditions on the Jakarta-Tangerang toll road segment. Conduct special monitoring, accelerate work, and perform layered checks at every point,” Dody stressed on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

According to Dody, this supervisory system aims to ensure that damage is addressed early to prevent it from escalating into risks that endanger road users.

Head of BPJT, Wilan Oktavian, stated that his agency is conducting intensive supervision of repair progress ahead of the H-10 Lebaran period.

“BPJT is carrying out intensive supervision of the handling progress on the Jakarta-Tangerang segment to ensure all work meets safety and road user service standards,” he said.

Meanwhile, President Director of Jasa Marga, Rivan A. Purwantono, noted that repairs have been carried out at dozens of priority points.

“As of 16 March 2026, the Jasa Marga Group has handled dozens of points on the Jakarta-Tangerang toll road. Large-scale work has been temporarily halted ahead of mudik, while quick handling continues,” Rivan said.

In addition to pavement repairs, Jasa Marga is also performing routine maintenance such as road marking painting, guardrail repairs, and enhancements to other safety facilities.

The Jakarta-Tangerang toll road plays a strategic role as the main route connecting DKI Jakarta to Banten and Sumatra regions, making its handling a priority during the mudik period.

The government also urges road users to remain cautious, maintain safe distances, and comply with signs and instructions from on-site officers to ensure safety during travel.
