Minister of Public Works explains arrival of prosecutors at Ministry of Public Works

Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo provided an explanation regarding the arrival of several officials from the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office at the Ministry of Public Works office on Thursday. He stated that the investigators’ visit was to request permission to conduct a deepening probe within the ministry premises. “Colleagues from the Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office came and asked for permission to carry out a deepening investigation by entering several rooms. So, I just gave them permission,” Dody said in Jakarta on Thursday. According to him, the prosecutors possessed task letters and official orders upon arrival at the ministry. “They said they had task letters and orders,” he remarked. Nevertheless, Dody indicated that there was no further information about the matter being investigated by the officials. “They didn’t mention what the issue was. They just wanted to conduct a deepening probe, that’s all. I don’t know (any more),” he explained. He conveyed that his side had granted permission and full access to the prosecutorial team to perform the investigation within the ministry, including his own workspace. “I gave permission; I even said that my room is open to them. And I have informed my head of security that if they (the officials) want to enter my room, they are welcome,” Dody stated.
