Minister of Public Works Claims Prabowo's Statements Proven True, Admits Being Targeted Instead

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo could not contain his frustration while recounting intentions that sought to suppress him. He stated that such indications became apparent when he reviewed a PowerPoint report concerning alleged budget irregularities in the Ministry of Public Works.

However, he noted something unusual about the report, which was only 2-3 pages long. Consequently, he requested the full version of the report, receiving it in book form.

“There was something that piqued my curiosity, so I asked for the book. All reports have a book version. I requested the book. It was just a draft because it hadn’t been signed yet. I only received it this morning (Sunday, 29/3/2026). In my personal opinion, there are many oddities. So, one could say that almost everything mentioned from the start lacks evidence,” he said, quoted on Monday (30/3/2026).

“There is no adultery, no affairs, none, even though there is evidence. Basically, almost everything is absent. Especially when it comes to corruption (Tipikor). This is what repeatedly mentioned by Mr Prabowo, the deep state. I am being hit by the deep state,” he stated.

This was not without reason. From his personal perspective, Dody observed that the report appeared to indicate an intent to audit him as the Minister of Public Works.

“In my personal view—and I say this again, it’s personal because it’s subjective—the one being audited is me. So, in the report book, it is the Minister of Public Works who is being audited. Official travels, everything is auditing the Minister of Public Works. So, it’s not auditing two Director-Generals, no,” he emphasised.

“So, I’m confused, why me? Fortunately, I requested the book. If not, we wouldn’t know what would happen. Because initially, I was given just the draft. A PowerPoint draft. Only two or three pages. But I was a bit suspicious about the draft. I was shocked. But I need to delve deeper with the Inspector General (of the Ministry of Public Works). I’ve just read the book. What does this mean?” he continued.

Dody said this behaviour proves what President Prabowo Subianto described as the deep state is real, not fabricated.

“I am experiencing it now. This is hitting me. If that draft had been released, it would have hammered me with corruption charges. So, it would seem like I am the one who is corrupt. Seemingly. Even though the initial order was for those two Director-Generals. But no. Absolutely not. The content of that draft targets me,” he said, unable to hold back his anger.

“Because it’s in draft form, I must summon the Inspector General tomorrow. I want to discuss. What does this mean? We’ll see later. To be honest, I just want to confirm. What Mr Prabowo Subianto said is very, very true. The deep state exists in all governments. Especially in Public Works,” he added.
