Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA), Arifah Fauzi, has affirmed that the government is ensuring the legal process proceeds firmly, transparently, and justly, while guaranteeing full protection and support for the victims in the case of child abuse at Little Aresha Daycare in Yogyakarta.

“Our primary focus at the moment is to ensure the legal process runs firmly, transparently, and justly. In addition, we are ensuring that all victims receive comprehensive psychological support and legal assistance, as well as further investigations to ensure no other victims are overlooked,” said Minister PPPA Arifatul Choiri Fauzi in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Her side appreciates the reporter and the swift actions taken by the Special Region of Yogyakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DIY) together with law enforcement officials.

Yogyakarta Police Chief Commissioner Pol Eva Guna Pandia stated that two of the 13 suspects in the child abuse and neglect case at the childcare facility are DK (51) as the foundation chair, and AP (42) as the school head.

The other eleven are daycare caregivers.

Previously, Little Aresha Daycare in Yogyakarta was reported to the police regarding allegations of violence and discrimination against the children entrusted there.

The police then raided the daycare on Friday (24/4). At least 53 children were indicated to have experienced violence, discrimination, and neglect out of 103 children entrusted at the daycare.
