Minister of Political and Security Affairs Urges IPDN Cadets to Uphold People's Rights

JAKARTA - Minister of Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago has urged IPDN cadets to enhance integrity and sensitivity in advocating for people’s rights.

“This is necessary to ensure that IPDN cadets, who will become officials, can create policies that favour the people,” Djamari said during a briefing for IPDN cadets in Jatinangor, West Java, on Friday.

According to Minister Djamari, IPDN cadets must serve the public, not be served, and should never cause harm to the people.

Djamari stated that IPDN graduates have multiple ways to defend people’s rights, including ensuring government officials at all levels—from central to regional—are free from corruption.

Such outcomes can be achieved by formulating strategic policies to prevent corruption, he added.

“Even minor corruption is a betrayal of the nation and must not be tolerated,” Djamari stressed.

However, to enact such policies, IPDN graduates must possess courage and high integrity.

This way, officials will not be easily influenced by any party, ensuring policies are solely in the people’s interest.

“Political officials may change, but the bureaucracy must continue serving the people. Therefore, the courage to speak the truth is crucial,” he emphasised.

At the conclusion of his address, Djamari urged IPDN graduates to work diligently for the people and the nation.
