Minister of Political and Security Affairs calls on Sulawesi regional governments to strengthen synergy and stability

Kendari — Minister of Political and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago has called on regional governments across Sulawesi to strengthen collaboration to enhance community welfare and maintain security stability.

‘I thank the regional governments in Sulawesi for bringing communities to a peaceful, safe, and improved state compared to before,’ Chaniago said in Kendari on Saturday.

He made the remarks during the 2026 Sulawesi Regional Government Appreciation Event held on Friday evening in Kendari.

Chaniago noted that the conducive conditions were due to cooperation among all elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) in each area.

‘Strengthen unity among ourselves, as no task can be resolved by one party alone. All elements must work together,’ he added.

He also praised provincial, regency, and city governments in Sulawesi for receiving awards for public service performance in an event organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

‘Let us continue this struggle. Let us believe the path we are on is correct. Together, we can improve community welfare,’ he said.

Meanwhile, Southeast Sulawesi Governor Andi Sumangerukka stated that the 2026 Sulawesi Best Regional Government Appreciation Awards ceremony in Kendari motivates local governments to further strengthen synergy with the central government.

He added that such synergy is crucial for implementing sustainable regional development policies and programmes to boost community welfare.
