Minister of PKP: Housing renovation programme in Lampung increases

Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - Minister for Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait stated that the house renovation programme implemented in Lampung Province has seen an increase.

“The house renovation programme last year covered around 3,000 housing units, and this year it has been raised by President Prabowo Subianto to 10,000 housing units to be renovated in Lampung Province,” said Minister Maruarar Sirait in South Lampung on Thursday.

He mentioned that in addition to the increased house renovation programme in Lampung Province, there is also the construction of rental apartments to support the provision of housing for the community.

“The government is also continuing to promote the construction of apartment buildings as well as the improvement of slum areas in several regions in Lampung Province, one of which is in West Lampung Regency,” he said.

He explained that this is one of the efforts to stimulate the economy in the area.

“I am confident that the housing sector will provide a significant contribution to Lampung’s economic growth in the next three to six months. This way, it can reduce unemployment and poverty,” he stated.

According to him, through collaboration built between local governments and housing developers, the availability of housing for the community can be increased.

“The Lampung Provincial Government is also able to present concrete steps in supporting national development targets, including the 3 Million Houses Programme. And supporting the people’s housing development programme in Lampung Province,” he added.
