Minister of P2MI Conveys Message of Commitment to Strengthen Services for Migrant Workers
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection (P2MI), Mukhtarudin, conveyed a message of his commitment to strengthening services and protection for Indonesian migrant workers during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
“Let us enhance our commitment to providing the best services and protection for all Indonesian migrant workers,” said Minister Mukhtarudin in a video message from Jakarta on Friday (20/3).
Mukhtarudin extended Eid al-Fitr greetings for 1447 Hijriah to all Indonesian people, especially Indonesian migrant workers celebrating wherever they may be.
On this day full of victory, the P2MI Minister delivered a message of enthusiasm, prayers, and hopes for all Indonesian Muslims, particularly migrant workers celebrating the occasion.
On this blessed day, Mukhtarudin hoped that Muslims throughout Indonesia and Indonesian migrant workers in various countries could return to the purity of heart, filled with gratitude and peace.
He also hoped that Indonesian people could rejoice together with their beloved families, including those achieving victory on this Eid al-Fitr.
“Let us make this Eid al-Fitr an opportunity to strengthen brotherhood through maintaining ties, and to bolster the spirit of togetherness,” he said.
Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah was celebrated by Muslims in several countries on Friday, 20 March 2026.
Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Eid al-Fitr was observed variably, with some Muslims celebrating on Friday 20 March 2026, and others on Saturday 21 March 2026.
Previously, on Thursday night (19/3), the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs officially determined that Eid al-Fitr, 1 Shawwal 1447 Hijriah, falls on Saturday 21 March 2026.
“Based on calculation and the absence of a visible crescent moon, it was agreed that 1 Shawwal 1447 Hijriah falls on Saturday 21 March 2026,” said Indonesian Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar during a press conference for the Isbat Session of 1 Shawwal 1447 Hijriah at the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Jakarta on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the General Chairman of the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nashir, had previously on Monday (16/3) urged that differences in determining the date of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah be handled with mutual respect.
“In essence, let this Eid al-Fitr, whether in agreement or difference, become a momentum to explore and implement sources of religious enlightenment for our lives, both in personal, family, community, national, state, and global contexts,” he stated.
