Minister of Manpower to Issue Circular on Eid Bonus for Online Ride-Hailing Drivers, Announcement Date to be Revealed
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Minister of Manpower Yassierli has hinted that the announcement or circular regarding the provision of Eid bonuses for online ride-hailing drivers will be made simultaneously with the circular on Eid allowances for workers.
“We will announce it later. Yes, it will be announced together, the Eid bonus, Eid allowance, and so on,” said the Minister during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/2/2026).
Furthermore, Yassierli stated that the government is currently in communication with application-based transportation service companies operating in Indonesia.
“Thankfully, their response has been good; they are committed to providing the Eid bonus,” he said.
Regarding the progress of drafting the Eid bonus circular, the Minister, who is also a Professor at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), said that his ministry is currently coordinating with the Ministry of State Secretariat (Setneg).
“It will be announced in the form of a circular or during a launch event. We are still waiting for coordination with the Ministry of State Secretariat; we will announce it together, God willing,” said Minister Yassierli.
The first Eid bonus was introduced through the Circular Letter of the Minister of Manpower Number M/3/HK.04.00/III/2025 concerning the Provision of Religious Holiday Bonuses in 2025 for Drivers and Couriers in Application-Based Transportation Services, which was issued in March 2025.
In last year’s circular regarding the Eid bonus, the bonus was provided proportionally based on performance in the form of cash, calculated at 20 percent of the average monthly net income over the last 12 months for productive and high-performing application-based drivers and couriers. In addition, the disbursement of the Eid bonus follows the applicable regulations, which stipulate that it must be provided by the company no later than seven days before Eid al-Fitr.
