Minister of Manpower to Announce Eid Bonus for Online Ride-Hailing Drivers: When Will It Be?

Minister of Manpower Yassierli has hinted that the announcement or circular letter regarding the provision of Eid bonuses for online ride-hailing drivers will be made in conjunction with the circular letter on Eid allowances for workers.

“We will announce it later. Yes, it will be announced together, including the Eid bonus and Eid allowance,” said the Minister during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Furthermore, Yassierli stated that the government is currently in communication with application-based transportation service companies operating in Indonesia.

“Thankfully, their response has been good; they are committed to providing the Eid bonus,” he said.

Regarding the progress of the Eid bonus circular letter, the Minister, who is also a Professor at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), said that they are currently coordinating closely with the Ministry of State Secretariat.

“We are just waiting for the coordination with the Ministry of State Secretariat to determine whether it will be in the form of a circular letter or an official launch. We will announce it together, God willing,” said Minister Yassierli.

The Eid bonus was first introduced through a circular letter from the Minister of Manpower No. M/3/HK.04.00/III/2025 concerning the Provision of Religious Holiday Bonuses in 2025 for Drivers and Couriers in Application-Based Transportation Services, which was issued in March 2025.

In last year’s circular letter regarding the Eid bonus, the bonus was provided proportionally based on performance in the form of cash, calculated at 20 percent of the average monthly net income over the last 12 months for productive and high-performing application-based drivers and couriers. In addition, the disbursement of the Eid bonus also follows the applicable regulations, which stipulate that it must be provided by the company no later than seven days before Eid al-Fitr. (Ant)
