Minister of Manpower: Competency Certification Adds Value to National Internship Graduates

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli has stressed the importance of competency certification for graduates of the National Internship Programme as a value addition, formal recognition of possessed skills, and a means to strengthen their position in the job market.

“We want internship graduates not only to bring practical experience but also to have formal proof that is widely recognised by industry,” said the Minister in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

He further stated that the government has facilitated certification for participants who have completed the internship programme to enhance workforce competitiveness.

“This competency certification is provided free of charge as a form of appreciation and capital for the participants,” Yassierli remarked.

This, he continued, demonstrates that the business world considers the real contributions of participants during their internship period.

He added that companies have objective parameters in determining the standards of human resources to be recruited to support productivity. Therefore, participants are reminded to continuously demonstrate their capacity and work ethic from the start of the programme.

“Companies will recruit workers who can provide real contributions. Utilise this internship period to demonstrate quality and competence as professionals,” he said.
