Minister of Immigration and Corrections: Try Sutrisno a True Bhayangkara Soldier who Served Tirelessly
Jakarta — The Minister of Immigration and Corrections (Imipas), Agus Andrianto, has described the late Vice President Try Sutrisno, a retired general of the Indonesian Armed Forces, as a true soldier and Bhayangkara officer.
The former Deputy Police Chief reflected on the sixth Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia as a soldier and Bhayangkara member who dedicated himself selflessly to the nation and passed this legacy on to his children.
“(The late) true soldier and Bhayangkara officer, who served tirelessly, and this was continued by his children,” said Agus, as reported by Antara on Monday (2 March 2026).
According to Agus, Try Sutrisno was one of the nation’s finest sons, dedicating his life not only to his family but also to the country throughout his lifetime.
“The long journey of one of the nation’s finest sons in dedicating his life not only to his family but to the nation and state until the end of his days,” Agus stated.
He added that Try Sutrisno was part of the extended family of the National Police. His third son, Inspector General Firman Santyabudi, previously served as Head of the National Police Traffic Corps.
The body of the sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno will be washed at RSPAD military hospital. It will then be transferred to his residence at Purwakarta Street Number 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
“We ask for forgiveness for any faults and oversights of the late during his lifetime. May the deeds of the late be accepted by Allah Almighty. We request your prayers so that the late may be granted the best place in His presence. Amen, Amen, Amen,” read a statement from the family announcing the death of the sixth Vice President Try Sutrisno.
