Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Immigration and Community Affairs (Imipas) Agus Andrianto inaugurated and led the oath-taking of Hendarsam Marantoko as Director General (Dirjen) of Immigration, replacing Acting Director General (Plt.) Yuldi Yusman.

Alongside Hendarsam, Agus also inaugurated Iwan Santoso as Ministerial Advisor on Public Services and Legal Reform at the Ministry of Immigration and Community Affairs in a ceremony held at the Directorate General of Immigration Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Agus extended congratulations to the two newly appointed officials, while emphasising that the trust bestowed upon them carries responsibilities that extend beyond mere administrative duties.

“May the mandate you officially assume from today not only involve carrying out the tasks and responsibilities of the position, but also serve as an example in professionalism and work ethics,” he stated.

Minister Agus also conveyed a profound philosophical message to the entire ranks, inviting officials to view every moment as a new opportunity to act meaningfully, rather than being burdened solely by routine duties.

“Every moment is new, and what we live is the remainder. May the remaining journey be of benefit to others. May in the remaining time we have together, we not only appear to be alive, but truly live,” he said.

According to him, the entire apparatus needs to break free from the shadows of the past and look forward with a clear orientation, namely to be meaningful to others.

“You have all reached the peak of your positions, but your forward movement will determine how significant your presence is to the institution, society, nation, and state,” he said.

To Hendarsam, Agus advised using the 15 Action Programmes of the Ministry of Immigration and Community Affairs as a guide in developing and optimising immigration policies and programmes.

“May under your leadership, Immigration provide even better services to the public, become a strong agency, and hopefully serve as an example to others,” he added.

Furthermore, Agus stressed that amid constantly changing global dynamics, all members of the Ministry of Immigration and Community Affairs can no longer work with outdated approaches; building internal solidarity and cross-functional collaboration has become a necessity.

“I hope that all members of the Ministry of Immigration and Community Affairs continue to maintain solidarity, unity, cooperation, collaboration, and communication, both internally and externally,” he asserted.

He also appreciated Yuldi Yusman for his dedication during his tenure as Acting Director General of Immigration.

“On behalf of the Ministry of Immigration and Community Affairs, I extend thanks and appreciation to Mr Yuldi and his wife for their service to the Immigration institution thus far. There have been many positive achievements and accomplishments during his leadership era,” he said.
