Minister of Housing and Settlements Urges Developers to Proactively Accelerate National Housing
We need to look at segmentation in the provision of subsidised housing. Subsidised housing developers from various regions in Indonesia also have their own professional segmentations.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) is urging developers to proactively accelerate national housing for the community.
She emphasised the importance of quick responses and concrete solutions to every obstacle that arises. She also encouraged business actors to be more proactive in understanding regulations and conveying issues on the ground.
“It is very important as entrepreneurs to understand the rules and convey the obstacles on the ground, including those related to permits and other matters. It’s just a matter of whether we want to be passive or active,” said Ara in her statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Furthermore, she stressed that open collaboration between the government and business actors is key to accelerating national housing development.
Ara also highlighted the importance of a segmentation approach in providing subsidised housing to make it more targeted.
“We need to look at segmentation in the provision of subsidised housing. Subsidised housing developer friends from various regions in Indonesia also have their own professional segmentations,” she said.
She added that the current government policies are becoming more inclusive, not only targeting those with fixed incomes but also those with irregular incomes.
In fact, continued Ara, in a relatively short time, the government has significantly increased the target for providing subsidised housing.
“In just one year, President Prabowo has raised the target to 350,000 housing units,” she added.
The presence of the banking sector and standardisation institutions underscores the importance of synergy in building a robust housing ecosystem. Sustainable financing support and the application of quality standards are key factors in providing decent homes for the community.
