Minister of Housing and Settlements: Senen Temporary Housing Construction to Provide Decent Homes for the People
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) has revealed that the construction of 324 temporary housing units or huntara in the Senen area, Jakarta, is intended to provide the people with more decent, safe, and well-organised housing.
She emphasised that this huntara construction is a quick step by the government to provide decent and humane housing for the community.
“We want to ensure that the community gets more decent, safe, and well-organised accommodation. This huntara is a quick solution while we prepare permanent arrangements,” Ara stated in her remarks in Jakarta on Sunday.
She revealed that the progress of the huntara construction is going very well and even exceeding expectations.
“I give my appreciation to the state-owned construction companies such as Hutama Karya, Wijaya Karya, and PP (Persero). The progress of building these 324 huntara units is extraordinary and fast, with a completion target of 15 June,” she said.
She assured that the housing being built is not only quick but also considers the decency and comfort for the community.
“Each huntara unit will be equipped with two beds, a wardrobe, and a fan. In addition, this area will also be equipped with supporting facilities such as a dining area, toilet, kitchen, prayer room, and green open space,” she said.
Ara also expressed appreciation for the cross-sector collaboration in accelerating this programme.
“Thank you to the state-owned enterprise friends who have carried out President Prabowo Subianto’s directives to provide people’s housing quickly and accurately,” she stated.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Angkasa Pura, Muhammad Rizal Pahlevi, expressed the company’s commitment to continue supporting the government’s programme in providing housing for the community.
The construction of huntara in the Senen area is expected to be utilised by the community soon, while also becoming part of more orderly, safe, and humane urban area arrangements.
Through this step, the Ministry of PKP reaffirms its commitment to providing quick, accurate housing solutions that are beneficial to the communities in need.
