Purwakarta - Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait directly inspected the Hunian Warisan Bangsa (HWB) Purwakarta project, described as the national prototype for affordable housing.

The visit forms part of the implementation of the national programme to build three million homes, as targeted by President Prabowo Subianto, to expand access to homeownership for the wider public while improving quality of life and promoting social mobility.

“This is a very important breakthrough. High-quality housing at affordable prices like this is the key to opening up homeownership access for the wider public. This is not just about houses, but about the future and dignity,” said Maruarar Sirait in Purwakarta on Tuesday.

The HWB Purwakarta project offers high-quality housing at prices far below market rates. One-bedroom units are marketed starting from Rp98 million, while two-bedroom units start from Rp115 million, lower than the typical FLPP subsidised housing prices, which are generally above Rp160 million.

The project, which began development in July 2025, was officially launched in March 2026 with a pre-selling scheme. In a short time, more than 1,500 units have been sold, making it one of the models and prototypes that can be replicated nationally to support the acceleration of the government’s housing programme.

On the same occasion, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the Purwakarta region is ready to serve as an example of community needs-based housing development.

“This is development that not only builds houses, but builds the lives and futures of West Java’s people,” he said.

Geographically, Purwakarta is considered strategic as it lies between Jakarta and Bandung and is surrounded by industrial areas with thousands of factories. This condition drives high housing needs for workers, and the project addresses those needs.

Meanwhile, Purwakarta Regent Saepul Bahri Binzein, often called Om Zein, expressed full support for the project. “This brings real benefits, jobs, investment, and new hope for the people of Purwakarta,” he said.

The project is the result of collaboration between HWB Group developers, Lippo Cikarang, and local developer Iwang Prejadi. This synergy is seen as an example of empowering local entrepreneurs in large-scale projects.

Lippo Cikarang representative Ketut Wijaya views this collaboration as a partnership model with broad impact. “We are proud to contribute to delivering real housing solutions for the community,” he said.

Iwang Prejadi also expressed deep gratitude for the trust and support from the government, local government, and Lippo. “This is an opportunity for us to make a real contribution to the community,” he stated.

Positive responses have also come from the public. Ina Tiya, a factory worker, said she never imagined she could own her own home at an affordable price. Similar sentiments were expressed by Sunarsih and Talita Yulia Fadila, who see the project as an opportunity to improve their quality of life.
