Minister of Housing and Settlements - Head of SOE Regulatory Agency Inspects Land for Flats Along Senen Railway Tracks
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, along with the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) Dony Oskaria, inspected land for the construction of flats in the area along the Senen railway tracks, Jakarta.
Maruarar, in Jakarta on Sunday, stated that the flat development will be carried out on a 1.4-hectare plot owned by PT Angkasa Pura, featuring two development schemes that prioritise synergy with SOEs and involve private sector participation.
The location of the land is on Jalan Kramat Raya, Senen Subdistrict, Central Jakarta.
“The concept is that one of the approaches to be developed is that the land remains owned by the SOE. So, private sector partners will help with the construction, and then it will be handed back to the SOE. This is one model to create extraordinary synergy,” she said.
Maruarar added that the concept to be used will be decided by her office and BP BUMN on Wednesday (1/4).
Meanwhile, Head of BP BUMN Dony Oskaria affirmed full support for the government’s housing provision programme.
He stated that optimising SOE assets is key to accelerating the project’s realisation.
“Fundamentally, we certainly support every government programme, especially the one mentioned earlier by the Minister of Housing. And we will also optimise all SOE assets to be more beneficial for the Indonesian people,” he said.
Dony added that this step aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to provide decent housing for the community.
“We hope for groundbreaking in May because we need speed to provide these houses for our fellow citizens. And of course, the scheme will be made as efficient as possible, as fast as possible, and certainly as safe as possible for our fellow citizens,” Dony said again.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto instructed several ministries and agencies to build housing for residents still living along the railway tracks, after previously inspecting settlements around the tracks in the Senen area, Jakarta.
Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya, in an official social media post in Jakarta on Friday (27/3), conveyed that the President ordered the Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Housing and Settlements (PKP) Maruarar Sirait, Perum Perumnas, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), and related officials to build housing and bathing, washing, toilet (MCK) facilities for communities still living along the Senen railway tracks.
“Today, the team is already moving to process the construction of new housing and MCK, located not far from their original living area,” said Seskab Teddy.
