Kendari (ANTARA) – Minister of Housing and Settlement Maruarar Sirait launched the 2026 Self-Help Housing Stimulus Assistance (BSPS) programme across Sulawesi, centred in Poasia Village, Abeli District, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra).

During the launch, Southeast Sulawesi received an allocation of 8,973 units for Low-Income Households (MBR) home improvements.

“I hope next year’s assistance will increase so more people can benefit,” said Minister Sirait during the BSPS launch in Kendari on Friday.

Sirait noted a significant increase in Sultra’s housing assistance quota compared to 2025’s 1,129 units.

He stated the BSPS programme is committed to helping residents improve or build homes into healthy, safe, and habitable dwellings. Physical repairs are scheduled to begin in June 2026 and target completion by August 2026.

“Construction progress will be monitored through regular coordination with Kendari City Government,” he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Sulawesi III P3KP Office Bakhtiar explained the Ministry of Housing allocated a total of Rp179.46 billion for the programme in Sultra, with each beneficiary receiving Rp20 million for home repairs.

“Specifically, the 2026 BSPS quota in Sultra is distributed across coastal areas (7,238 units), rural regions (902 units), and urban zones (833 units),” Bakhtiar said.

He detailed the allocation across 17 regencies/cities in Sultra: Kolaka (2,248 units), Muna (888), South Konawe (793), Kendari (548), Wakatobi (541), Konawe (491), and West Muna (487).

Other allocations include North Kolaka (424), East Kolaka (411), Central Buton (388), Buton (319), Bombana (291), Baubau City (285), and Konawe Islands (259). Buton South, Buton North, and North Konawe each received 200 units.

ANTARA observed that Minister Sirait, accompanied by Interior Minister Tito Karnavian, DPR Commission V Deputy Chairman Ridwan Bae, and Kendari City’s security and leadership officials, inspected BSPS beneficiaries in Kendari.
