Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian has ensured that the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes is proceeding according to their intended targets. This was demonstrated through a direct inspection of the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) programme in Pamoyanan Village, Plered District, Purwakarta Regency, West Java, on Friday (2/10/2026).

The Minister of Home Affairs conducted the inspection alongside the Minister of Housing and Residential Areas, Maruarar Sirait. The two ministers inspected the condition of houses proposed to receive assistance and engaged in dialogue with local residents, including Eti Nurhayati and Amung.

“This is Mr Maruarar Sirait, the Minister of Housing; the President has entrusted him to assist in repairing your home,” Tito stated in an official statement.

Eti expressed her gratitude that the home she shares with her family has received government attention. Based on field verification by the Ministry of Housing and Residential Areas, Eti’s house met several criteria for assistance, including a fragile roof frame, damaged walls, and broken tiles that cause frequent leaks during rain.

Minister of Housing Maruarar Sirait stated that the inspection was carried out to ensure that aid recipients meet the established criteria. He emphasised that the condition of the houses and the profiles of potential recipients must be verified to prevent the programme from being misdirected.

“I do not want this to be misdirected. We must not have well-maintained houses or those belonging to middle-class or wealthy individuals being repaired. That is why we checked the profiles earlier,” he asserted.

Following the inspection of residents’ homes, the Minister of Home Affairs and the Minister of Housing witnessed the process of selecting Open Stores (PTT) for the BSPS programme. The presence of both ministers serves as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to ensuring that the community has access to decent housing.

Also present at the event were Special Staff to the Minister of Religious Affairs Gugun Gumilar, members of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) from across West Java, and other relevant parties.
