Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology and Head of National Nutrition Agency Inaugurate Unhas MBG Kitchen

The core is how higher education institutions can play a role in supporting the President’s priority programmes, one of which is the MBG programme.

Makassar (ANTARA) - The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Brian Yuliarto and the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana inaugurated the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) at Hasanuddin University (Unhas), Makassar, South Sulawesi.

The Minister stated that the kitchen facility built by Unhas is a concrete step by the university in supporting the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme while strengthening Unhas’s position as an independent campus.

“The core is how higher education institutions can play a role in supporting the President’s priority programmes, one of which is the MBG programme,” said Brian during the inauguration at Unhas on Tuesday.

He explained that higher education institutions must not merely be spectators but need to take concrete roles in the implementation of community nutrition fulfilment.

“This SPPG will later serve as a place for practice, research, and further development of the MBG programme,” he said.

Dadan conveyed that Unhas is the first public university with legal entity status (PTNBH) to operate the SPPG facility.

He appreciated Unhas’s commitment, which is always at the forefront in responding to government strategic initiatives.
