Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf welcomed the arrival of Hajj officers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, after they had completed over a month of service to Indonesian pilgrims in the Holy Land. The minister stated that the returning officers were those assigned to the Makkah working area, with the remainder to follow gradually alongside the repatriation phase of Indonesian pilgrims. “Alhamdulillah, this afternoon I welcomed the arrival of the Makkah batch of Hajj officers. I came here intentionally to welcome them,” said Menhaj Irfan in Tangerang on Tuesday. In addition to greeting the officers, the minister also met with their families who had been waiting outside the arrival gate, thanking them for allowing their loved ones to be away for more than a month. “The performance of our Hajj officers in serving the pilgrims was truly outstanding,” he remarked. “Makkah is now clear of our pilgrims, meaning only about 29 percent of our total pilgrims remain in Madinah. Alhamdulillah, they will gradually return,” Menhaj Irfan added. The officers will also return home in stages, with the final group scheduled to arrive by 4 July 2026.
