The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, has requested that the two airlines serving the route, Garuda Indonesia and Saudia Airlines, ensure timely flights. He expressed his hope that there would be no delays in the flight process for the return of Hajj pilgrims to Indonesia.

“I have also advised both airlines, both Saudia over there and Garuda here, to maintain on-time performance and avoid any unnecessary delays. Especially to avoid delays that extend into another day, as has occurred previously,” said the man often referred to as Gus Irfan at King Abdul Aziz Airport, Jeddah, on Sunday (30/05/2026) night.

Regarding services during the Hajj period, Gus Irfan expressed his gratitude to the pilgrims for their orderliness. Furthermore, the Minister extended his thanks to Hajj officials and all relevant stakeholders, including the aviation sector.

That evening, Gus Irfan was present to personally see off the first group of pilgrims returning to the homeland. During the occasion, Gus Irfan received feedback from pilgrims who expressed their satisfaction with the services provided during the Hajj pilgrimage.

“Alhamdulillah, they are very happy with our services. We were tasked by the President to provide the best service for the pilgrims, and we have worked as hard as possible to fulfil that mandate, and alhamdulillah, the pilgrims have felt our efforts,” he said.

“This is all the result of the hard work of our team at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the ranks below us, all Hajj officials in all regions, as well as various ministries and agencies that have assisted us; we have all worked hard together,” he added.
