Minister of Hajj and Umrah Sends Off the Diny Musyrif Team to the Holy Land, What is Their Role?
Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, M Irfan Yusuf, saw off the departure of the Diny Musyrif at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Tuesday (12/5/2026). This departure is part of strengthening worship guidance services for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in the organisation of the Hajj pilgrimage for 1447 H/2026 AD. In his remarks, the Minister emphasised that the Diny Musyrif have a strategic role as worship consultants. They are present to ensure that pilgrims receive proper, valid, and reassuring manasik guidance during the series of Hajj worship in the Holy Land. “The Diny Musyrif are not merely worship companions, but guardians of the quality of pilgrims’ manasik. They have a noble duty to ensure that the Hajj worship is carried out validly, orderly, and still provides ease for pilgrims in accordance with Sharia principles,” said Gus Irfan, his familiar nickname, in a press statement on Wednesday (13/5/2026). According to Gus Irfan, the presence of the Diny Musyrif strengthens the first pillar in the Tri Sukses Haji concept, namely successful rituals. The other two pillars are successful Hajj economic ecosystem and successful civilisation and culture. Therefore, the Diny Musyrif are expected not only to understand the technical aspects of manasik but also to provide enlightening, calming guidance that strengthens the spiritual awareness of pilgrims. He explained that in the Tri Sukses Haji, the Musyrif Diny are at the forefront to ensure successful rituals. “They are tasked with safeguarding the sanctity of worship, guiding manasik validly, and ensuring that pilgrims understand the easements of Sharia without losing the spiritual meaning of Hajj,” he said.
