Makkah (ANTARA) - Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Mochamad Irfan Yusuf has praised the dedication of the Hajj staff who serve prospective pilgrims, especially the elderly, in the Masjid al-Haram area in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

“I have found the staff to be extraordinary. Alhamdulillah, with the pilgrims’ spirit tempered by the staff’s promptness, the elders, who are on average around 80 years old, can perform their worship as well as possible,” said Minister Hajj and Umrah Irfan Yusuf after conducting a field inspection at the Syib Amir Terminal in Makkah.

The minister explained that the on-site inspection was carried out to ensure all prospective hajj pilgrims receive optimal service from the staff, who remain on standby to assist from the early hours of the day.

To maintain pilgrims’ satisfaction, the minister emphasised the government’s commitment to ongoing periodic evaluations of every Hajj operation.

“We will always evaluate. We will preserve and enhance strengths where they exist, while addressing and fixing weaknesses. That is what must continue to be done,” said Minister Irfan.

“As we approach Arafat, there is traffic management being implemented by the Saudi government, so some buses have to circle. We understand the delays, but we assure and strive to ensure, as far as possible, that all pilgrims are transported back safely to their respective hotels,” said Minister Mochamad Irfan Yusuf.
