JAKARTA - Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Irfan Yusuf, met with the Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Almudi, to discuss preparations for the Hajj pilgrimage in 1447 Hijriah or 2026 CE.

In the presence of the Saudi Ambassador, the Minister conveyed that the Indonesian Government has ensured comprehensive readiness for organising this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

“The Indonesian Government will continue to strengthen coordination with the Saudi Arabian Government and all stakeholders to ensure the Hajj pilgrimage runs smoothly and provides comfort and blessings for all pilgrims,” Irfan stated in a press release on Tuesday (7/4/2026).

“Pilgrims will be gradually dispatched to Saudi Arabia starting from 22 April 2026,” he added.

He noted that commitments and support continue to flow from the Saudi Arabian Government, particularly from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince, and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

“We extend our highest appreciation to the Saudi Arabian Government for its commitment and support in providing the best services for Hajj pilgrims, including those from Indonesia,” he said.

Regarding global dynamics and the situation in the Middle East region, Irfan hopes that these conditions will not impact the operational aspects of the Hajj pilgrimage.

“We hope the tensions can subside soon, so that the entire Hajj process from various countries can proceed smoothly and safely,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Faisal Abdullah Almudi conveyed that his visit is part of follow-up efforts to ensure readiness of services for the duyufurrahman (guests of Allah).

“This visit is a follow-up to our coordination to ensure the pilgrims’ journey proceeds well. The Saudi Embassy in Indonesia is committed to providing full support for the smooth running of the Hajj pilgrimage,” the Saudi Ambassador said.

He emphasised that Saudi Arabia is in a safe and stable condition and continues to maintain the security of the two holy cities for Muslims worldwide.

“Saudi Arabia is currently in a state of peace. We pay great attention to the interests of Muslims and continue to strive to maintain stability, including encouraging tensions in the region not to persist,” he added.
