Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Meets Prabowo at Presidential Palace to Discuss National Park Funding Task Force

Jakarta, Kompas.com – Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni met with President Prabowo Subianto at the Jakarta Presidential Palace on Thursday, 12 March 2026 in the afternoon.

He said he was summoned to attend a meeting scheduled for 1:30 PM (Western Indonesia Time).

He also plans to discuss the National Park Funding Task Force.

“I was asked to meet with the President (at 1:30 PM). Yes, I presented some materials. Of course, regarding forestry, national resilience, and our plan to establish a National Forestry Funding Task Force,” said Raja Juli on Thursday.

To date, he said, the budget allocated to national parks has been minimal.

“In fact, we want to establish a National Park Funding Task Force. We have 57 national parks in Indonesia, and so far their budgets have been inadequate,” he said.

He hopes that through this funding mechanism, the national parks within the country will have a standard equivalent to national parks around the world.

“We hope our national parks will be world-class. This requires funding beyond the state budget. Well, that is perhaps one of the things I have prepared,” said Raja Juli.
