Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, stated that the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply in Indonesia is in a safe condition, with reserve levels already above 10 days.

“I wish to convey that the difficult period for LPG has been overcome since the 4th. Alhamdulillah, our LPG reserves now exceed 10 days’ capacity,” said the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, to the media after President Prabowo’s briefing at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that the LPG reserves are supplied from Australia, the United States, and several other countries, so the availability of the commodity is not affected by the situation in the Strait of Hormuz.

He noted that, to date, Indonesia’s total LPG imports are approximately 70-75 per cent from the United States (US), 20 per cent from the Middle East, and the remainder from several other countries, including Australia.

At the same time, Bahlil addressed the matter of RON 92, 95, and 98 fuels, including Pertamina Dex diesel, stating that adjustments will be made once the calculations are complete.

“We are still conducting the ‘exercise’ (calculation), and hopefully, pray that the ICP (Indonesian Crude Price) can truly decrease. That would be much better,” he clarified.

However, regarding the prices, he assured that they are still in the calculation stage with Pertamina and the private sector.

Concerning the two Pertamina ships that have yet to cross the Strait of Hormuz, he stated that communication with relevant parties is ongoing.

Communication continues to be built in the hope that, with the two-week pause in the escalation in the Middle East, a solution to the issue can be found quickly.

“With the two-week lull in the escalation in the Middle East, hopefully, it can be resolved soon,” Bahlil Lahadalia concluded.
